Hong Kong singer-actress Kelly Chen gave birth to a healthy, three-kilogram boy via Caesarean section early Friday morning in Hong Kong.

Her agent, Zhong Zhen, confirmed the news when contacted by news website Sina.com.

The Hong Kong media reported that Chen was rushed to hospital around midnight Thursday after she started to feel uncomfortable. An army of reporters had already congregated outside the hospital.

Chen announced her pregnancy last November and an expected date of birth in early August. She continued to film commercials throughout her pregnancy and did not stop working until May.

The 36-year-old entertainer married her husband, Alex, in a fairytale wedding ceremony last October.

The Chinese name was given by the father himself, Alex, and it is Lau Sing (Cantonese), Liu Sheng (Mandarin), which has the meaning of "the sun has just risen"; while the English name is Chace, which has the same pronunciation as Chase, hoping that their boy could set off to chase his own dreams and aspirations. Kelly joked that besides having to chase his dreams, he has to "chase after" a girlfriend, otherwise it might be the girl who would chase him.

Kelly Chan: 5 months pregnant still working

Kelly Chan is 5 months pregnant and still working. The other night, she attended an event wearing a Giorgio Armani '09 dress with Swarovski high heel shoes, while carrying a matching Swarovski handbag. She looked absolutely stunning. Her tummy was bulging out, indicating her pregnancy, and her chest looked fuller too.

Kelly told reporters that her high heels were only 2 inches tall and she only wore them for 10 minutes. She would change back to a flatter heel afterwards. The reporter asked Kelly if she was happy that her bra size had increased a "cup". Kelly smiled and replied, "It's normal for the cup size to increase but mine only increased by half a cup size. I am happy with it." Kelly revealed that since her pregnancy, she has put on 12 to 13 pounds in weight and her tummy is getting bigger too. She need to find out the best delivery method in terms of post-natal recovery. That also depends on the baby's position during delivery. Reporters asked if she would have her husband around when she is in labor, Kelly replied, "That depends, it's okay if I am awake during labor." Kelly expressed that a mother's love is the greatest. Although Kelly has lactose intolerance, which causes her stomach pains, she still drinks milk. She wants to make sure the baby gets enough calcium and therefore has been drinking 2 glasses of milk each day. She never likes eating fish too but, for the health of the baby, she has started eating them. She has to pinch her nose to swallow the fish.
