Review: Watchmen

Watchmen is a legendary graphic novel that came out in 1986-87. It was known to be so difficult to shoot that the creator deemed it to be unfilmable. It may be unflimable 10 years ago and in today's special effects, it was created with utmost accuracy.

Watchmen is one of the most important comic book that all comic book fan has to read. Today's comic book has group up to feature more relevant subject and adult themes because of Watchmen. So do read it or get the Watchmen Motion Comic available on DVD or Blu-ray.

The movie is a very good adaption of the comic. Zack Snyder, the director did a very good job at making this movie to close at heart to the book and yet fit it in 2 hrs + movie. YES...most of the concept of the storyline and important scenes were there....but there are also a lot not in the film.

The comic is 12 chapters long and the movie is only 2 hrs+. So just think about Zack's careful selection of scenes to include in the movie. I think he did a spot on job. No complain.

The premise of the story is set at early 80s time period but the themes are very relevant to even today's world. Violence, War, Nukes, Sex and most importantly Humanity. The Watchmen is a group of superheroes but with major flaws. Superheroes like humans with special abilities. They are still human and contains the flaws that are in us. For example, The Comedian is a psychopath in his own way, Rorschach is a maniacal tough guy that gets the job done no matter what is the cost.

The moral or summary of the story is what it takes to save humanity? What do you have to do when the world is preparing to destroy itself?

I am not going to ruin the movie for you. Watch it with an open mind and tell me what you think? Does the end justifies the means?

Who is Watching the Watchmen?
