Ellen DeGeneres - new face for Covergirl and Olay!

A few months ago when Ellen DeGeneres announced that she would be the new face for CoverGirl, I could not believe it. No offense but Ellen just did not fit the image of Covergirl or at least the Covergirl that I knew. For me, Cover girl is young, vibrant, all about make-up etc.

Ellen probably just fit the vibrant category but she is not young and definitely not one that I could associate as a make-up person.

Anyway, recently the campaign was revealed, she is the face of CoverGirl and Olay’s newest product Simply Ageless Foundation. I guess it probably make sense now on why she was chosen.

This product is a first of its kind — an anti-aging makeup that stays suspended over fine lines and wrinkles, instead of settling into lines which can make you look older.

“I’m thrilled to be a CoverGirl,” says Ellen. “I’ve been practicing in my bathroom mirror for years…Now finally, you’ll all be able to see it.”

Ooopps Oprah is fat again!

Having packed 40 pounds onto her former 160-pound self, Oprah Winfrey is declaring, "I'm mad at myself" because she's "fallen off the wagon."

As the media mogul, 54, writes in the January issue of her O magazine hitting newsstands Tuesday "I'm embarrassed … I can't believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I'm still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, 'How did I let this happen again?' "

For starters, the fact that her thyroid was out-of-balance gave her "a fear of working out," she says. "I was so frustrated I started eating whatever I wanted – and that's never good."Having slimmed down to 160 in 2006, she admits, "Yes, you're adding correctly. That means the dreaded 2-0-0."

She slept with a married politician!! - Her side of the story

She was the tabloid sensation at the center of the sex scandal that brought down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer. But in her very first interview, Ashley Alexandra Dupré tells PEOPLE, "I am a normal girl."

"Everyone knows me as 'that girl,' but I'm not just 'that girl,' " the 23-year-old former escort says in the new issue of PEOPLE, on sale Friday. "I have a lot of depth, a lot of layers."

Enduring a media spotlight that included seeing her MySpace photos splashed on front pages "has been really hard," the New Jersey native explains. "But I'm a survivor."

Her descent into tabloid mayhem began the night of Feb. 13, 2008, when Dupré – who had worked as a high-end escort to help pay the bills on and off since 2004 – met a client who turned out to be the Governor of New York.

Dupré claims she had no idea who the man was that night. What she does recall is that "Client 9," as Spitzer was reportedly known at her escort service (which was shut down in March), "was polite.

"Some guys, they want to have conversations and really get to know each other. With him, it clearly was not like that. It was more of a transaction. Strictly business."

Casually dressed and with no entourage in tow, Spitzer didn't strike Dupré as someone important. Besides, "I was there for a purpose – not to wonder who [he] could be."

In fact, she didn't find out who he was until March when, just days after learning she was mixed up in some sort of FBI investigation, she saw the Spitzer apologizing on TV. "It was surreal," Dupré says of seeing the client she had met a month before. "I felt like I was sinking."

As for the former governor, "I think he's been punished enough." Asked what she might tell his wife, Silda, who stood at Spitzer's side when he announced his resignation, Dupré offers, "I'm sorry for your pain."

In the interview, Dupré also opens up about her troubled past – running away at age 17 into a non-stop life of drinking and partying – and how a girl from the suburbs could fathom becoming a prostitute: "This wasn't any different than going on a date with someone you barely knew and hooking up with them," she reasoned. "The only difference is I can pay my rent."

Once the FBI told her they were looking into one of her clients, Dupré says she was forced to confide in her homemaker mother, Carolyn, that she was turning tricks.

"It was extremely painful for her," Dupré says, though "my mother wasn't angry. She was supportive."

Now living with her mother and stepfather in New Jersey, Dupré says she has learned her lesson, and then some.

"I'm 23 years old," she says. "I want to do music, to do fashion, to write books – there's so many things." One thing she won't be doing: selling her body to make ends meet. "No," she says. "Never again."

Christian Bale is John Connor

After his excellent portrayal of Bruce Wayne/The Dark Knight...he will be back next year as John Connor. He will be the future leader to fight against the machine that almost wiped out the human race. The new 2009 summer blockbuster will be called Terminator: Salvation. After watching the trailers, I think it is a good restart of the Terminator franchise that was started by Arnold. The story will be about John Conner in the future but it is a future very different from what Sarah Conner has warned him about....so this summer we will see what is the new twist of the Terminator franchise with the great Christian Bale at the helm. Heath Ledger - nominated for the Golden Globe - would he win?

Good for him! Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker the Batman blockbuster, The Dark Knight has earned the late actor a Golden Globe nomination,

Indeed, it is great honor and personally I think well deserved.

Commenting on the honor of being nominated for best performance by an actor in a supporting role, Heath's Perth, Australia-based father, Kim Ledger, said in a statement to PEOPLE, "We thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for honoring Heath's performance in The Dark Knight. This nomination is deeply appreciated and is not lost on those of us who continue to love and miss him. We are so proud our boy's work is being recognized in this way."

According to Hong Kong Magazine Xingdao Daily, Michelle Reis had to agree to eight "house rules" before Julian Hui's family consented to their marriage.

Since they started dating in 2006, there have been reports that the Hui family did not approve of Michelle.

In August 2007, Michelle also made public that she could not get along with Julian's friends, and they appeared to have broken up. But not long after, they were spotted hand in hand again, and he even demonstrated his affections for her by giving her a car.

In September, when she was not present at the Hui family's Mid-Autumn reunion dinner, there was again speculation of the family's objections.

But the actress has been trying diligently to make a more favourable impression on her in-laws.

Not only did she agree to abide by their traditions and strictures as expected of a daughter-in-law, she also agreed to be more low-key in public as is the family's modus operandi.

Sources close to the actress say that she was very respectful towards her in-laws and did not put on any airs with them.

She would even kneel down to serve tea to them on their birthdays and during Chinese New Year.

The couple, who were often caught on camera behaving intimately, have also agreed to stop their public displays of affection at their family's request.

The eight "house rules" she has to abide by are:

1. Reis' family is not entitled to any allowances after they accept her dowry of HK$1 billion (S$19.5 million)
2. Unless absolutely necessary, she should not stay overnight with her family
3. She has to serve tea to her elders during festivals
4. She has to eat dinner at home at least twice a week
5. She should not appear in the media unless absolutely necessary
6. She should not attract too much media attention
7. She should dress and behave more conservatively
8. The couple should not behave intimately in public

Boy George - imprisoning a MALE ESCORT

Boy George has been convicted of falsely imprisoning a male escort.

The jury in a London court sided with Audun Carlsen, 29, who claimed that the former Culture Club frontman (real name George O'Dowd), 46, had handcuffed him and beat him with a metal chain.

Boy George admitted to cuffing the escort, but said it was because he suspected the man of tampering with his computer.

According to the U.K.'s Press Association, the singer looked grim as the verdict was delivered.

The singer was released on bail until his Jan. 16 sentencing. Judge David Radford warned Boy George that he was likely to face jail time.

This is not the musician's first brush with the law. He has a long history of drug abuse and, in 2006, spent five days sweeping the streets of New York as his court-ordered community service.

Jodie Sweetin - Full House little girl, all grown up and in the news - drugs, divorce!

Remember this cute girl from Full House??....Yeah not the Olsen twins. There was 2 other girls in Full House. Anyway, they have all grown up but I guess stardom at a young age is not always a good thing.


Jodie Sweetin spent years growing up with methamphetamine addiction. Lat year, she recently hit the news when she attributed her husband Cody Herpin who turned her life around and she was happily pregnant with their first baby.


Everything was still well and dandy when they both became proud parents to baby daugther Zoie.


But a few weeks ago.....the usual Hollywood breakup story - Former Full House star and new mom Jodie Sweetin is splitting with her husband, Cody Herpin.


"I was dumbfounded," Herpin tells PEOPLE, adding that Sweetin left their home and took their 7-month-old girl. "Over this past month something has been different. I'm concerned about our daughter and I just want (Zoie) home."


Sweetin's agent, Stella Alex, says the actress is "absolutely clean" and that the couple have "come to this path in their life and she felt like this is the way she had to go. Jodie says it's unfortunate but it's just what has to happen right now.

Latest news - New court papers shed light on the deteriorating marriage of former Full House actress Jodie Sweetin to husband Cody Herpin.

"Our house is in foreclosure, our water has been shut off twice. Currently, all of our other utilities are overdue," the actress says in papers filed Nov. 19 in an Orange County, Calif., court, describing the 16-month union as "rocky."

Herpin, a driver and transportation coordinator in the film industry, stopped working after they got married, Sweetin alleges. "[He] kept finding one excuse after another for his failure to even attempt to find employment," she says.

Sweetin, 26, claims the couple were kept afloat financially with Full House residuals and help from their parents. The latest documents are a request for a court order allowing her to retrieve her belongings, as well as clothing and toys for their 7-month-old daughter, Zoie, in the event Herpin "prevents [her] from peacefully taking these items." Sweetin claims she worries Herpin "will become very emotional and possibly erratic."

Herpin tells PEOPLE that Sweetin has returned home four times since the above filing, but "she won't talk to me," he says, and his emails to her have gone unanswered. "I still have no idea what this is about. None of this makes sense." As for his lack of employment, "I was the stay-at-home dad, my job was taking care of Zoie," due to Sweetin's busy schedule, Herpin says. He is seeking sole legal and physical custody of the couple's daughter and spousal support from Sweetin.

Sigh...to cut the long story short, she met a bum who probably wanted her for her fame, Helped her out of her addiction, refused to work, trying to leave off her and after one child, she is realizing that he is just a bum living off her!

Andy Lau - if you were his girlfriend, would you be in the dark for 23 years?

Everyone kinda knew that Andy Lau has a woman behind him all these while, infact she was well hidden despite rumours that he had already married her and she was an Ipoh girl. I have heard this rumours for years. He never admitted it and continued his own pursuit in stardom. Personally, I think he overdid it but then again who am I to judge, maybe he was just doing it for his fans!! Eg like how Jackie Chan kept his marriage (Lin Fung Chiao) and son a secret for many many years in fear of how his fans would react if he told them he was married. Anyway. kudos to his girlfriend who has been kept in the dark for 23 years? Would you do that??

IPOH: After 23 years of keeping their romance under wraps, Hong Kong heartthrob Andy Lau Tak Wah and his Malaysian girlfriend Carol Chu will walk down the aisle next year.

The couple, who got to know each other in 1985, have chosen Pulau Redang in Terengganu, as the site for their lavish wedding ceremony to avoid paparazzi.

Hong Kong magazine “Three Weekly” reported that the 47-year-old Lau got the idea of getting married on the resort island from his buddy Tony Leung Chiu Wai, who recently tied the knot with China beauty Carina Lau Kar Ling.

The magazine reported that Andy had been vehemently denying his relationship with Chu for fear that his fans would not support him but Chu’s appearance at Lau’s concert early this year had fuelled the rumour mill.

During a concert last month, Andy set tongues wagging when he asked his fans if idols could have girlfriends and get married.

Fans greeted his question with happiness and responded that he should openly show his love for Chu.

Andy was said to have used that statement as a test of his fans’ reaction towards his marriage plans.

Chu’s romance with Andy is believed to have started not long after she was named second runner-up in a beauty contest in 1985.

In May this year, Andy was spotted at the wedding ceremony of Chu’s sister in Kuala Lumpur.

When contacted by press over the news, Andy’s former Taiwanese girlfriend Yu Ke Xin said:
“I am very happy for him. It is time he settles down.”

Maria Carolina, a Chilean prostitute, has become an instant celebrity in the Roman Catholic country after auctioning 27 hours of sex to raise money for a disabled children's charity. Maria Carolina has made headlines and appeared on talk shows since she announced her donation to the televised Teleton,

Chile's largest fundraising event that will run for 27 hours.

She said this -

"I am going to contribute with my work to a purpose that touches me deeply. I've already auctioned off the 27 hours. One of my clients already paid" .

Miss Carolina, who charges $300 for a 90-minute session, estimated that she would raise more than $4000.

Britney's comeback and Madonna is right!!

Madonna has long chosen Britney over Christina to take her place as the Queen of Pop. For the last few years many doubted and even remarked that Madonna has made the wrong choice. Well, Britney was just down the dumps the last few years with the crazy marriage to Kevin Federline, having 2 kids, divorce, depression, drugs, rehab, no panties etc.

But I believe Britney is back and she has shaped up real well. This is her latest performance, Britney took to the stage in London on Saturday night to lipsynch on a singing competition, Simon Cowell's X Factor.

I think she gave a great performance, and I keep seeing the similarities with Madonna. This is probably what Madonna saw a long time ago. Go Britney!!
