Malaysia - I am so embarrassed.

Malaysia is not a big country. We are not often mentioned in the world news. Therefore, being a Malaysian in a foreign land, I wanna feel proud whenever the country name comes up. It is almost like a pride swelling whenever someone mentions Malaysia and say something like they recognize the name, know something about the country etc.

But I am so embarassed. Please watch the video below. It is not CNN news, or ABC, NBC news - Thank God! but equally it was hard to watch to see Malaysia mentioned in that way.

So my dear "holier than God" a$$holes, thanks for putting Malaysia on the map! You did us PROUD in the backside!

It really is memalukan when you hear about Malaysia in that sort of context, it paint's a very ugly picture especially for those who have never visited the country (and probably never will after such news).

The screwed up thing about all this censorship is that it's not liable in any sense. The best way to bring up the country is to promote it as a platform for anything international.

What's the point of asking Avril (who by the way has always watched her style of dressing) and Gwen to tone down their dress code and antics on stage when we can find thousands of girls in KL clubs with even skimpier outfits and getting up to far worst antics?

The Malaysian goverment needs to grow up, they have to realize that they are representing the people not just their sick fanatic / stone age views.

The concept of a concert is simple - if you like them, you pay for it, if you dont - nobodys forcing you to watch it. The people who have bought the tickets for the show want to see Avril perform - it's call entertainment people. For those that don't agree with it, their welcome to sit at home. I'm pretty confident Avril isn't going to corrupt the minds of our young one's - the Goverment has already done a swell job at that.

If they are so strict about the way someone dresses, and keep stating that this is an "Islamic" country then why do they allow the sale of Alchohol? Why profit from the taxes made from a drink deemed haram by Islam? This isn't done in other Islamic countries.

The Avril concert shouldn't have even been a debate in the first place. If the goverment is going to deny the people on international concerts they just earned themselves another minus point.
